Guy's,
Wondering if anyone can help out with a maximum roof loading for a '99 Gu patrol. Had wind screen crack over the
Easter break while on a trip on the black top, no dirt work at all. Up top was RV4 OZ tent, Christie bat charger, double swag, Chairs, Space case for food mounted on an ARB H/duty roof rack. Total weight not including roof rack of approx 120Kg over estimate. There were some really small chips in wind screen where the cracks were. But need to see if some one has any idea of the MAX load. windscreen was replaced approx 6mths ago. Didn't have the problem with Genuine wind Screen lots of chips same load no increasing cracks.
Just as an after thought Lost the double swag between
Karumba and the
Flinders River sth of
Normanton QLD.
Easter Monday morning. Help required as it was a wedding gift, Missus is peeved about loss.

When I enquired at Nissan, they said 200kg. Providing a full gutter mount is used. ie ARB and the like.

Tony,
Do you know if this included the weight of the roof rack?

Yes it does
As it does with all loads on a roof.
Its the total amount of the weight including the rack.
Otherwise how would they rate it
An alloy rack may hold more than a steel one but the total allowable is the same.

Also the load on the roof comes out of the total payload of the car so if you have
4 people and a full roof rack it wont leave hardly any for the ball weight of a van
