What do you consider to be the most practical colours for a good quality camper trailer canvas tent. I mean red probably hides the dust but does it fade and look tired early in life or light colours for the roof are supposed to let the light in but don't these show up sap and bird dropping stains. I figured the earthly colours like browns and greens would look the best after many years of camping but looking around at used campers these seem to be the least popular colours so maybe I am missing something From a practical perspective what are your thoughts experience or observations with regard to tent colour ? What was your choice in tent colours and were you happy with your choice and why ?
Thanks Peter

Browns and greens are best. They don't show up dirt, they aren't an eyesore as they blend in with the landscape better when set up.
I think the browns, tans and greens are the most popular colour I've seen when camping out bush. I don't stay in caravan parks etc so I don't know what colours people have in them.

Khaki.......least likely to fade, hides dirt better than most ( all ), ...I didn't have a choice when I bought the CT, and although there are "prettier" colours available, unless you go for a "cammo" colour, then Khaki would probably rate as the most practible colour...

light browns or khaki, darker greens probably draw more heat.

I don't know the truth of this, but when I once sold a camper trailer in Qld, i was told that blue was very unpopular up there because it attracted March flies. On the other hand, they might just have been trying to beat my price down. Any
views on this from Qld forumites?

not sure about the Qld thing, but I know from bushwalking with blue and black packs seem to attract more than red or mustard. But when the flies ate thick it doesn't matter what colour in my experience.
