Evening all, I have a Dell net book which I am using for navigation, emails etc but what I find a pain is the touch pad as it doesn't allow you to have the same accuracy as a mouse. So I have the Ram mount and am looking at some form of pad for the mouse within the vehicle on the drivers side. I know that if your passenger is using the navigation then the centre console would be the go. Not talking about on the move but once stopped and checking distances etc.
Any suggestions?

I am using Dell also - use a wireless mouse and you can run it up the side window, the roof or the floor if you want. I just ran a
test on a cupboard beside me - side of a cupboard behind me, vertical and mouse pointing away from laptop - worked fine.

I have a remote screen so use a wireless mouse and it works fine running it on my thigh.

Ditto to both comments. We always use a remote wireless mouse. Logitech have a small one with a small receiver that goes into the USB port. These things will even work sliding it across your hand; much better than mouse pads.

I use a trackball mouse, doesn't need a mousepad, just sit it on my knee. It takes a bit of getting used to but is is far less jumpy when on the move (not driving)
Like this hopefully.

This is the one I use in the caravan, you don't need as much space on the table. For a link - see

was about to suggest a trackball if they still exist... looks like they still do!
Touchpads need practice and then they are great.

Hi Boeing,
I use a Targus Laptop table which folds up neatly and has a mouse pad on the side. It is only small but adequate. I too dislike touch pads.
Steve
PS I have just checked the Targus website but cannot see it listed so they may not make it anymore.
