Hi All, as you may have read I met up with members Doug, Noel and Scott at Mt Bundy station the other day, it was good to put faces to posts. Yesterday went out to
Jabiru and met Steve from Top End Tours, he gave me some tips on what to see around the area. I visited Ubirr and checked out
the rock paintings and looked at
Cahills crossing. What a great place. Crossing was closed with a metre of water going over and what i presume was a locals 4x4 twin cab ute sitting in the middle getting a good flush out!!! i then went to
check out the rivers in the area and flicked a few lures but no fish and didn't see any crocks. Then it started to rain like i have never seen before, so took to opportunity to have a quick shower, so refreshing. The rain didn't stop so i drove out the flooded tracks and crossed two floodways that were now .6mtr deep! Rain kept up till Humpty Doo then dry in
Darwin. Had a great day thanks to EO members info. Today we are off to
the Aquarium and a cruise round the harbour in the LARK.
Who else is in
Darwin at the moment and enjoying the humidity?
cheers
jay
PS Doug the Garmins going great now!

Hi Jay
You have to do the museum and
art gallery . .
Stokes Wharf for a fish and chip dinner . .
From the visitors info centre, see if you can get hold of the historical walking tour map of
Darwin . . .
Even give the hop on hop off Tour Tub a go . . .
Top End is great in the damp eh . . ))
Cheers

Good to read your having a good time up here, and yes Ubirr is unreal eh, You should have plenty of warnings working on the 5000 now, if you get a 2GB SD card you can add a heap of music MP3's , drop in on the way South if you get time and I'll load it up for you with some great Truckie songs and Country,
Doug
