I've been thinking about the benefits or otherwise of
the Spot 2 for a while now.
What I like about
the Spot 2 is its ability to transmit an
Check in/OK message & also the 'Track progress' ability. Both potentially useful for us as we spend most of our trips on our own (if you can call a family of 7 alone!) and it would be nice for our wider family to follow what we are doing. PLB's don't have this ability.
Is there any other similar items on the market with the same functions?
cheers
Ian

Hi Ian,
Check out "EOTrackMe" on the members page. It may suit your requirements. Cheers

Is "EOTrackMe" working for all yet? Can't see how to use/input to it. Can see your track George.

Rod,
EOTrackMe is being commissioned at the moment. It is in the final few stages before release. I have a number of iPhone and Symbian (Nokia/Samsung phones) being used right now for final testing and the results are good. So I am expecting to have release of the Mobile phone interfaces this week and then later next week the ability to integrate
the Spot tracking to the EOTrackMe mapping system.

GPSoz
forum says they are on their way. It doesn't say they have arrived at GPSoZ yet.

I just bought the last SPOT from GPSOZ, the new ones.
Give them a ring in a couple of weeks to see if they have more coming in.
