We're thinking of having a week away and I'm just researcing a bit about 1770 and Agnes Waters. Do you have to go through Agnes Waters to get to 1770? We have a Jayco Eagle camper trailer and a 2 and 4 yr old so there appears to be 3?? caravan parks to choose from. Is one place better than the other? We are after a good
fishing spot, dont care about touristy shops, prefer the quiet. It may only be around July, so not sure if
places close over the off peak season?
Also now the highway has been upgraded at Apple Tree Creek is it better to go thru Bundy or up to
Miriam Vale?
Thanks

Hi,
Yes you have to go thru
Agnes Water to get to 1770.
There is a new CP in Agnes just at the back of the main beach, There is another out of town in the industrial area (quiet) and the council one on the water (literally 10ft away) at 1770 but this one can be packed especially in peak periods.
There is also the captain
cook holiday village between 1770 and Agnes that should be fairly quiet.
Also there is the
campground in springs Rd just behind the main beach and is
bush camping amongst the trees.
Also there are the Eurimbula and
Deepwater NP's.
The road from Bundy to Rosedale isn't the best as it is narrow and a bit rough in
places but you would be ok (I drive it everyday). The Bruce Hwy can be considered rough in spots as
well so either route is an acceptable option.
Cheers
Dave

Not to mention that at that time of the year IS peak period, so a booking might be in order

I travelled up from Bundy to 1770 last week in a Hyundai Getz with zero problems, about an hour and half each way. Being school hols it was busy and I'd reckon in mid winter in the peak
grey nomad season it would also be busy.

Near the mouth of the creek where it runs behind the headland, but the creek in general will have plenty of fish.

Chook, if you have a tinnie and go in the river, stick to the channel: very tidal, sand bars abound. I have never had much luck there! Last time, needed a new water pump for the tinnie donk. :-(
