Has anybody out there had any experience with using palm with clip on gps antenae and using oziexplorer CE ,radstermaps as a alternative to a traditional gps .The idea of a bigger screen takes my fancy as it would be easier to see ,and the pilot could be used for general trip notes etc .

Thanks

I use a Pocket PC HP Ipaq 2210 with a Garmin Etrex GPS running OziCE. It's a great little setup and in the car and boat I use a combined data/power cable which means both devices are powered from the cigarette lighter.

As to how useful it is has a lot to do with the quality of the maps you are using. There are still times when you can't beat the old paper map. However, you can still use the GPS to get an accurate fix which you can plot on the paper map.
