Drove from Brisbane to Cobar today. This was the result on the front of the Commodore, mostly on the Gywdir, Kidman and Kamilaroi Hwys between Moree and Cobar. Be prepared if you are travelling this way.Image Could Not Be Found

Hi Kev,
funniest thing to us was the smell of the hoppers burning on the exhaust - sort of like toast -:)

Nope Kev, we only have 8 left in Longreach now. We don't have any trees with leaves left either though.

Karen,

I reckon they wouldn't have gone too far as they would be too fat to hop/fly anywhere too far LOL

Cheers Kev

Ha ha, I can send them to your house if you like. These ones only have a 30 day life cycle and dont migrate apparently. So I cant wait for them all to die!

Came across quite a few on the Newell south of Dubbo last week. They were thick in places but the swarms were relatively isolated. The locals were prepared with screens over their car grills

Cheers,

Geoff

Hi Mike
They are like that in the Riverland of SA at the moment. We were up there for 10 days and they came in like that about a week ago. Reports from other people in the Caravan Park said they started in the east near Mildura.

Cheers

I run into a pague heading towards Barcaldine many years ago riding a motor bike, I was bruised, smelt worst than the back door a bad take away shop and took for ever to clean my waxed cotton riding suit.

I have found that by slowing down to 75kph they don't bust, they just bounce off, guess that's not an option for most as everyones in a hurry .

Why did you block the licence plate out for, it is yours eh, 1000's of people see it when your driving it.

Haaa Haa maybe you got a WARRANT out for you.

Very true Doug,
It is the ones that jump up from the road that make the mess, I bet his windscreen wasn't anywhere as dirty as the grill and bumper. Slowing down will work. Watch the cars comming the other way and you'll see what I mean.

Cheers
