Doug, when you receive emails like this that are not just sPAM, but fraud, I understand that they can be forwarded to the following who will linvestigate them .
spam@uce.gov
It is a USA address, and I don't know whether or not their reach extends to Australia.

the "click here" link probably gets around to asking for your Bank details so that the refund can be direct credited to your account ...after they clean it out of course

I've had similar, and yes, it was asking for bank details to pay me the 'refund'. Delete key activated.

just type the alledged scam into google and it will tell you what it is and stuff.
I love google, had a few emails come thru that people say are the bomb. i frequently get crap from a mate, whois not the full quid sometimes and types his password into stuff
so if in doubt people "WEB SEARCH IT" i.e. "GOOGLE IT"

Beats me why people even open them. Simply previewing or opening a
well put together scam or virus email can trigger a response back to the mongrels.
Turn your preview off. Look at the subject, who its from and their name BEFORE opening it. If you even think its rubbish delete it.
I have set up a role that any email from "undisclosed sender" is automatically deleted.

Incoming areas of government are very serious about revenue so it is probably worth advising Federal Police and the Tax Department. Unfortunately, despite massive scamming involving billions of dollars there are too many trusting people who are taken in.
