A post on these a couple of weeks ago seemed positive and a number of members indicated they were going to purchase one.......Doug T (NT) was one I recall as indicating considering purchasing one..I value Doug's
feedback on all items he researches and so would love to hear any follow up
Question is simply for those that purchased one did they turn out as good as the sales pitch and
forum comments?
Thanks

I've had
mine since last November and am very happy with the picture quality and the size of the camera itself, no bigger than a mobile phone.
I went on a new years eve cruise and had it in my pocket the whole time, so when ever something looked worth taking I always had the camera on hand.
I bought a 16GB sd card which was plenty big enough for what I took (55mins in total) and could of taken double that.
With the software I made great DVD's that I copied and shared with all that came on the cruise.
The thing with it is to keep the light behind you at all times.
I bought
mine from the US as they were not released here at the time.

Yes, recieved
mine yesterday from Ryda, still learning the tricks but what I have taken just playing around looks very good on my large wide screen, I like to explore things without using the guide, I worked out most of it except where the damn battery went, I had to give in and look, the one thing I noticed was still pics looked plastic, but that don't worry me as I have a Nikon D60 for stills, the other thing was , I had read what was in the box, I thought there should have been a CD with the software on it, I couldn't find it so emailed RYDA about the missing CD and told them unless the box had a secret compartment the CD is not there.....
well yes, there is a secret to the software, very funny it was, so I'll leave it be a secret for any new owners....lol.

Well Doug, it's not much of a secret as you will have found out it couldn't be easier, it is the easiest camera to use.
Mine came with outdated firmware so I had to update it and I found that a challenge as I was expecting it to be a lot harder than it was, latest version is 1.06 which you would probably already have.
I found these tutorials by this woman very helpful for making movies of your footage, a lot easier than trying to work out the software yourself, especially for a dumb B......d like me.

Thanks Doug
On the strength of that I have ordered
mine from Ryda this morning ...like you I have a nice SLR for stills (Canon 450D) to compliment it and so it seems another learning experience coming to me
Thanks

Hi all,
I was also interested in some
feedback from anyone who has recently purchased one of these camera's, I read Doug's comments & liked what he said, I would have liked to have heard a bit more about the picture quality, so I searched for the Kodak Zi8 on Utube and found an entry by a fellow who goes by the name of "High Tech Dad" who does comparisons on the latest tech stuff to hit the market.
He has a Blog which I found interesting where he compares the Zi8 and the Flip UltraHD, after reading the comparo I have been convinced to buy the Kodak Zi8.
You can read his comparo blog by following the link below...
HighTechDad Blog
My only other question is, where do I buy one?...I live just out of
Melbourne.
Regards,
John

I really don't know what else I could have said except that the camera picture quality is brilliant!
My full HD TV shows what brilliant quality it realy is.
My old sony was a chore in comparison only due to it's size and not being 1080p.
