Hello

We are meeting up with family in the Gold Coast at the beginning of June. There will be four girls aged between 8-11 years & we want to go to the theme parks but as they are all ridiculously expensive thought we would limit them to three. From what I can tell the choices are... Movie World, Sea World, Dream World, White Water World, Wet 'n Wild and Australian Outback Spectacular (I know this is dinner & a show & not technically a theme park but the girls are horse crazy).

So my question is... which are the 3 top theme parks for that age group (in your opinion)?

Thanks in advance for answering :)

If you have wet suits then wet and wild or white water world are great in winter !!

No queues and ride all day till you are exhausted. Kids wetsuits are pretty cheap now.

Sea world, Dream world, would be 100% winners and a toss up for the last one.

Check to see if you can find special deals with RACQ or the like they have 3 passes for the price of 2 and things like that sometimes especially in winter.

I might add that it is out of the question for people who live in Qld, but for the tourists froom down South it's hot for them so in they go. I won't even go in for a dip up here in the dry season, actually I been here over 18 months and been in the pool once.

Hi Leanne,
Check out the MyFun web site for deals and specials. We bought a 6 month Dream World pass that was about the same price as a one off entry at the time. Which gave entry into the water park next door to Dream World. Just be mindful that you can't take you won tucker in, unless you need special food for medical reasons. You can get Out Pass if you want to go eat elsewhere.
You do need a whole day to see all of Dream World. Nothing worse than rushing from one thing to the next.
Anyway, check out their site, & have fun guys.

Definitely check out the myfun site..... some of the deals are awesome, which will get you much more theme-park-for-your-$$$$

Sea World is my favourite, and I thought the Australian Outback Spectacular was a very good night out. Toss a coin for the other them park though, for mine it'd be Wet'n'Wild if you don't mind swimming in June!

Cheers

Brian

My crew did Wet'n'Wild and Movie World last year. Movie world is good for the smaller people who might not want the bejeeesus scared out of them by EVERY ride. There are some very full on rollercoasters there but also some tamer stuff as well.
About four years ago we did wet n wild in August. The day was only about 18 deg, but being from Tassie, that time of the year we usually have about 10-12. It was decidedly tropical!! All the locals were feeling the extreme cold of the day and stayed home. We virtually had the joint to ourselves.
If you have a wetsuit/steamer you'd be set for a good day.

Go to the myfun website where you'll find the endless summer passes
$150.00 for adults for 3 worlds except dreamworld (unlimited entry)
$75.00 for kids under 13 for three worlds except dreamworld.
OR
We have just come back from 5days at seaworld resort with the above passes for 2 adults and two kids under 13 for $1300.00.

the outback spectacular was great but @ $300 for 4 of us its a bit pricey but the meal and service are fantastic.

If the weather permits I wouldn't miss White Water World along with Dreamworld and although pricey I recommend the Outback Spectacular. If you have enough time and need a day that is fun but also relaxing check out the Tall Ship cruise to McLarens Landing. We picked up tickets for the cruise on ebay for $120 for 4 of us and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday.
Above all else - enjoy your holiday : )

I live in Brisbane and for Christmas my work offers a party at either Wet-n-Wild or white water world (rotates each year). I know my kids (girl 7, boy 10, boy 13) all prefer wet and wild.

White water world is more for the 4-10 age I feel, with only two/three larger rides. The main area is the Nickelodeon and the wave pool. The nickelodeon is a jungle jim/kid slide that gets covered in water (age 4-10). I tried going on it with the kids but felt out of place :)

As with Whitewater world Wet-N-Wild has allot of height restricted rides and is mainly for I would say older kids (13+). The rides are a bit faster and more xtreem. So depending if you girls like the fast and twisting rides go Wet-n-Wild.

Hope it helps

dreamworld and waterworld racv we got a 2 day pass with entry into dreamworld and access to water world. day two waterworld with access into dreamworld but you can switch between the two anytime during the day
seaworld is also a must.
kids thought movie world was boring so we didnt go there and not much difference between wet n wild and waterworld

It`s best to go on weekdays rather than Sat or Sun. These days they get busier from day trippers from Brisbane which in turn makes for bigger queues for the rides.
