Hi Folks
Was thinking of travelling between the Stuart Highway and Uluru via the Mulga Park Rd. I've looked at the Finke to Uluru via Old Gunbarrel Highway trek notes
which says it takes 5 hours to travel the 25km from the Highway to Victory Downs. The pictures in some of the related feedback (eg thread 70533) seems to suggest it is an easy good quality track which makes that travel time seem excessive.
Can anyone give me an indication of the approximate driving time from the Stuart Highway to Yulara via this route?
Also how frequently travelled is this track? I have a UHF radio but no HF or Satphone. If we were to breakdown (not that I would expect to) could you reasonably expect some one coming past within a day or could you be waiting for weeks?
Thanks

Graham

It is a graded, earth formed road Graham, and carries regular traffic. We allways use it in preference to the bitumen. Its condition will vary depending on the last grader, traffic and rain.
