In 2000 Pud and i travelled the Centre for several weeks, but there were some areas we didn't have time to go to, such as Chambers pillar.

We would very much like to go there this trip and have been thinking we might tackle it via the Hugh River Stock route, is there anywhere on this road that we would be able to camp with the van for a couple of nights and do a day trip in to the Pillar.

Thanks for you help in advance.
Cheers
Baz

Gday,
Not really......there is a nice spot where the Hugh river crosses the stock route but its still a long drive in or you can hide in the bush and chances are no one will no your there or even care, but why not just camp at Chambers Pillar?

My understanding is that we wouldn't get in there with the van, true or false, may have to leave van some where and take the swag.

All depends on the van and your ability....you could always leave it at Jims Place on the Highway and drive in from there.
JIms is 90km south of Alice....not far from the HRS.
