We will be travelling the Canning through May this year and would like peoples thoughts on whether its worth doing a trip out and back from
Wiluna to
well 5 ? We will be towing so that leg is off limits to us but after travelling over from Queensland we don't want to miss anything!!
Cheers Jim

Jim,
I would say that if you are going that far to do the
Canning Stock Route the trip from
Wiluna to
Well 5 and back would be worth while.
Leave the camper at
Wiluna,
check out
Well 1 and
North Pool on the way out to the start of the CSR.
You could
camp at
Well 3 and then do a run up to
Well 5. If you have time turn around and
camp back at
Well 3 if not
camp at
Well 5. There is no camping after
Well 3 until
Well 5.
On the return trip it will be quicker because you would have seen everything on the way in.
Have a safe trip.
Wayne

If nothing else it will be a frustrating drive on the way back when you see how easy it would have been to tow a trailer up to
well 5 :-) The restrictions are certainly out of step for many who have set them up properly for full offroad use.
You'll find the lower section is different to that further to the north but is basically just marginal station country. It's all worth seeing if you have the time.

Thanks Guys, We don't have camping gear other than the trailer so might do a run at it from each end -
Wiluna and
Well 5 just to see.
