Vehicle Interior cleaning

We all get our vehicles dusty & dirty especially the interior. Cleaning the dust & dirt out of air vents & other "nooks & Crannies" in our vehicles can be an arduous task. What do members use to clean up the interior of your vehicle? I know warm water & a clean rag is the obvious but are there some other ideas members would like to share?

Orejap

have you tried blowing the interior of your 4by out with compressed air?
i found this gets a lot of the dust out b4 you start cleaning the inside.this is good for removing the dust from seat covers too as well as all the hard to get to places, cheers.

Hairy,
you forgot to give important instructions, she also has to open your stubbies while you supervise.

Seriously, the Mrs uses a makita blower, warm water, Powerplus carpet & upholstery cleaner and keeps my beer at 2 degrees C.

I dont see how it is possible to say that you get your missus to do it.

How do you get your vehicle into the Kitchen????

Or do you allow a long chain????

To get the dust out of the vents and around the t/bar (auto) and on the edges of the dash fascia I use a very soft bristle paint brush, for the seats (leather) just a wipe over and occasionally use leather cleaner and a soft brush to clean the dirt from the lines of the leather (not a fan of leather, too slippery when 4wdriving) with the carpets I use the steam clean machine from woolworths (I have sandgrabber mats anyway) but still get dust around the edges and under seats. I hate armour al with a passion, cant stand the stuff, attracts the dust like a magnet, makes every thing slippery and has alcohol in it so it actually stuffs the dash board not protect it by drying it out (my opinion anyway), doesn't repel the suns rays so what's the use, better buying a dash mat to protect the dash, had one on the old lux, was 20 years old and over 300k on it no dash cracks plus on extremely hot days 38+ when parked I would throw a sheet over the whole roof to protect the whole of the interior, do the same with the prado. I take out everything light then open all the doors and use my Stihl gardenblower. Then a soft paintbrush and vacuum for the vents and crannies. Vacuum the carpets and seats and finish with a microfiber cloth (enyo) to pick up the residual dust off the plastic and vinyl.

Cheers

Pete

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think I have a solution, the neighbours 18yr old daughter said she would do it for $20 however I am a bit worried because the last time she "helped out" she washed the vehicle in the driveway wearing her bikini. When I explained that she almost caused six pile ups she told me she thought it would be a good idea to get a sun tan & make some $$$ at the same time. So I might have to supervise!!!
