Gidday

After three years of Government dribble, we now have the go ahead for a Medical & Dental clinic in Tooradin.

Of all the things I’ve done in my life. I can’t recall anything that is more gratifying than this.

I feel real sorry for you folks in the Outback areas who are going through this same process. It’s an unbelievable frustration test.

To put it into context, these are the first medical facilities the area will enjoy dating back to 1839. Makes you wonder about the depth of our politicians during that period.

It took me two and a half years to even establish a Pharmacy in the town, and that wouldn’t have happened without Abbott’s support.

So you can all come this way now, and feel confident, that if you fall off the roof rack, we’ll be able to glue you back together again, and close the injuries with a bit of fencing wire. LOL

Regards

Kim

Gidday Hairy

I really feel a lot of empathy for you blokes up there. Trying to get decent schools build for the kid’s, medical centres and a safe environment.

It’s a hard track to go down, but I 've slowly learnt you have to give the ears a bit of grubbing to get anything done.

Regards

Kim

Obviously no Indigenous population in Tooradin then?
I live in Fitzroy Crossing, and the government can't spend money fast enough:
Schools that no one attends
Hospitals to patch up fight injuries
A pool to bathe in
The most under appreciated facilities in Australia!

Gidday

I thought long and hard about your post (as to whether I’d respond or not).

Then had a thought ‘why do things need to be so hard’. The conclusion was apathy on both sides of the block.

To start with, I’m no dill or latte drinker when it’s comes to the problems of bush towns. I’ve lived in them for a big part of my life.

I’ve never been to Fitzroy Crossing, but I know Hall’s Creek pretty well.... Same old thing!

You can grizzle all you like, but if you can’t get somebody to rouse up the town leaders, nothing is going to happen. I can absolutely assure of that.

The biggest problem I have is getting rid of the *&%#@^ (men and women). Those sorts of people who nag, but won’t get off their behind’s to achieve anything.

My attitude now is ‘if a community doesn’t have the guts to rebuild its self, and find some relevance, it deserves to die’. No amount of government money is going to inspire a town without leadership.

I'll get off my soap box now.

Regards

Kim

Well done Kim,you deserve a gong.

You will probably have to elect a local to parliament to get something else done, what about putting your hand up.

You didn't mention any staple gun for any breakages, goodness mate, everything is stapled nowadays

Sorry about that Dave.

In the past, if a person had a medical problem, we'd place them in a small boat and give them 12 hours to think about their medical issues on the mud flats.

I'll look into your new Stapling idea.

LOL

Nothing like a bit of persistance to get what you need. Well done. It doesn't surprise me though that the authorities have been slow with a major centre just 10km up the road.

Good on you Kim, your obviously putting a bit of effort into this sort of work-but where is Tooradin?
Only one I can find looks like a suburb of Melbourne, Im guessing there is another one as I gather you do a bit of bush work?

"we’ll be able to glue you back together again, and close the injuries with a bit of fencing wire. LOL "

Not me Kim!!! The size of the needle for the fencing wire would have me running screaming from the room/building/town!!!!!!!!!

Seriously though, well done Kim. Someone else said you seem to work tirelessly at this sort of thing, FWIW, I agree wholeheartedly.

Good onya!!

Cheers

Brian
