Hi goddosglory
A similar question was asked on the caravaners
forum - was that you? A reply from someone in the area included;
"Unless they have done it up the
Meekatharra /
Wiluna Rd is only for 4wd and off road vans also the Carnarvon/
Meekatharra Rd. It would be best to
check with the Meeka Shire or
police close to the time as the cops and rangers are out on it a fair bit."
I haven't been on that road, but with our previous camper,
Pilbara stony roads did some damage, including a hole in the
water tank, and the front of the van 'battered in' by stones.

Shorter not always quicker! However from the reply below looks like it will present no problems for you.

It is a year since I drove it but it is a good, wide, gravel road with some sealed overtaking areas.
You certainly should have no problems unless it is very wet.

I was there late last year, as said by bgreeni above, no problem at all. It is gravel so adjust your driving speed. Even if wet, not saturated, you will only get lots of red mud, wet dust on your car. Cheers

Hi Goddsglory,
Another option is to go from Leinster to
Sandstone on the sealed road and then to
Meekatharra on what is generally better quality gravel, however
check with the
police and shire council.
Cheers,
Jerry
