G’day all,
Can anyone provide info on the camping conditions at Archers Crossing. I’ve Googled it and done a search on this site. Can’t find much info at all and no images. Is it a big area? Is there a lot of river side camping and is it a quiet spot worth a stay for a few days?
Thanks in advance.
Myles.

Myles,
I haven't been down to that camping spot as yet.
I have to go to
Toowoomba today so if I get time tomorrow I will go and
check it out for you and take some photos :)
The other
free camping spot that has free power is the
Chinchilla weir which at this time of year is reasonably quiet and very close to the water.
Cheers Kev

Geeeeez, thanks Kev… That would be brilliant!
I think the weir is quite wide. I think they water ski on it.? Away from the weir may be more isolated.
Myles.
PS… Only if you have time and it’s not too much trouble.

Kev,
I just noticed a 48hr stay limit. If you’re able to
check it out could you advise if this is correct… i.e. is it signed as such on site. I was looking at going there Friday and leaving Monday.
Myles.

Myles,
There has been one bloke there (at the Weir) for nearly 3 weeks due to a medical complaint.
Council doesn't enforce the 48 hour limit except for troublemakers.
Cheers Kev

Myles,
I have just created a new Place in the EO system for you.
Archers Crossing
Camp Ground.
I think it will be a good place to spend a few days if totally self sufficient ie power and water.
I checked the north side of the river as
well and there is limited camping spots available and there is also a lot of weed in the water close to the banks on the northern side.
I have included directions as to how to access the southern side (I didn't have the GPS so had to do it via the trip metre in the car :)
HTH
Give me a yell if you do head out this way.
Cheers Kev

G’day Kev,
I don’t care what everyone says, I reckon you’re a top bloke. HEHE!
One of your pictures says it’s a large area. Hopefully I’ll find a nice quiet spot.
I will mm you.
Thanks again.
Myles.
