Hi all

I plan to visit a mate who lives near Taree on the NSW coast. I would like get some suggestions as to a good camping area up to a 75 Ks north of Taree.
I have 4x4 with a Roof Top tent and all the gear but fortunately or unfortunately we will be travelling with my well behaved "Bluey" which my restrict my choices.

Any suggestions ?

You could try Knorrit Flat Riverside Retreat. I've spent a few days there in the past and would recommend it.

I second Knorrit Flat, have stayed there a few times the last being in February this year.

Hot showers, flush toilets, nicely mowed grass, virtually a lawn. Not "flash" but very clean and tidy. Cost us ten dollars per head per night.

You don't say if you are looking to set up a permanent camp or intend to overnight. If overnighting you might like to look at Coopernook Forest Park, number 74 in Camps 4. Being State Forest they are free and you can take your doggy friend.

Had an overnight stay at Coopernook FP just 10 days ago. There were about 15 camps there but still heaps of room on a big mown grassy area. Very clean flushing loo too. Great spot with virtually no traffic noise.

We got to it coming from the north - OK coming off the new highway, but getting back onto the southbound lane took a bit a bit of a detour.

Cheers,

Val

Hey mate,

I believe the first caravan park as you drive into Harrington also accepts dogs. Harrington's not a bad place to live either ;).
