The probable truth is that you will be lucky to find a
shop in any smaller town that will sell them.
They are not exactly as common as milk and sugar.
Your best bet is an online specialist GPS
shop like GPSOZ or Johnny Appleseed or the two on Google.

Ask around when you get to
Mildura. If the locals don't know then I suggest you try e-bay. As for no phone signal, how can access the internet and contribute to a fourm?

Perhaps they have the phone on a different carrier to the internet?

Hi Cozzie
From the
Spot website, no dealers are listed for
Mildura or close by, but depending on where you are coming from (SA, Vic, NSW?) and going to you may be able to find a dealer in one of the towns you are driving through (eg
Broken Hill).
cheers
Ian

I'm in
Mildura....we have Ray's Tent City, Aussie Disposals, quite a few 4wd shops, a Dick Smith
shop, a few other electronic shops.
However may I suggest.......if you are coming in on the Sturt Hwy from S.A. direction....turn right at the first roundabout, into the Calder (15th St), go through the lights and try either Rays Tent City or further on Halls Caravans, both on left. They should be able to give info if they can't supply.

I bought
mine from guys in
Perth called
www.roamingtech.com.au a few days ago. I looked around on the web for a while and they were cheapest ones. The service was great and even overnight express postage was for free.

Thanks to those that helped me out with this, I ended up backtracking into
Broken Hill and got one Express post from P.I Plus a good price and free delivery, so I will be back on my trek soon.
