Have been to
Willow Springs Station for the weekend and found out while talking to the owners that they have been forced to close Skytrek as of last Thursday (22nd April) for the time being.
This has nothing to do with adverse weather however but a dispute with a particular Sporting Association that owns adjoining property and which part of Skytrek traverses.
This Association apparently has jacked up their fees that Willow Springs pays them for access to their property to the extent that Willow Springs management have refused to pay the increase. The result was this Association locked the access
gate to their property and thus shut down the Skytrek route.
Willow Springs pay all Public Liability costs and maintain the entire track at their own expense, grading and repairing sections as necessary.
What does the owners of the adjoining property do?
Suck as much money as they can out of the Skytrek operation for no input of their own apparently.
Legal proceedings are imminent in an attempt to resolve the dispute over the fees.
Bill.
