Hi all
Want to hear from people that have towed a Jayco Outback camper to
cape york. How did it go?
Obviously we would do the bypass track and do day trips on the harder stuff to do some sight seeing.
Looking forward to Responses.
Cheers
(2 months until we travel around Aus for 12 months!!!)

Hi Haleys,
Was up there last year. Towed an off-road camper up the OTT which was a bit of a challenge in
places, but we had an absolute ball.
Came back via the Development Road and apart from the usual corrugations, wasn't real bad at all. There are heaps of on-road vans up at
Bamaga and
Seisia, so it's very do-able. Just drive to the conditions and take your time - you get to see more that way anyway.
It's one of the best
places we've visited, so really worthwhile. Consider doing the combined ferry trip to Thursday and Horn islands for a wonderful history tour of the area. Lots of WWII relics and plane wrecks on the guided tour and a huge lunch thrown in. Can't remember the actual cost, but not that expensive and
well worth it! You can use your Seniors discount, if you have a card, as
well.
Cheers
Gerry
