We have a 1993 Toyota Landcruiser with a supercharger. A few months ago we stated having problems - the car looses power going up hills especially when we are towing the caravan (like from 100 to 60).
We have taken it to a couple of mechanics but they couldn't find the problem.
I think it may have something to do with the air flow or the fuel pump????
Does ayone know of any mechanics who would know what to look for - preferably near the NSW Central Coast.

I had a friend with a blower on a 1HZ in an 80 series and the blower put too much load on the harmonic balancer and ended up seperating the inner and outer parts of it.Check that yours isn't doing the same, mucks up the timing as the harmonic balancer moves on the crankshaft. The woodruff key on the crankshaft flogs out allowing movement.
After the whole thing came off twice (the second time destroying half the engine bay and the crankshaft) he pulled it off and went back to NA.

On the air filter (induction) side of the blower have you got a rubberised tube in the line to the filter ?
I have seen a case where the hose sucks in under load.
Also what type of blower is it ? a centrifugal vortex type could be blowing off boost through loose connections but with a direct manifold mounted twin screw this wouldnt be an issue.
Buy a boost guage they are as cheap as chips and you can see whats happening when the power drops off.
