A 4wd towing a caravn and apparently making a u-turn collided with a motorcyclist (broken leg) and customers at a nearby Service Station.
In SA all vehicles executing a u-turn are required to give-way to ALL other vehicles (bicycles, trams, buses, pedestrians etc). Same requirement probably applies in other States. Police are investigating and charges may be laid against the 4wd driver.

Nasty.
I expect our mate Scruby will rant about this being another reason to ban 4wds.

And 20 or 30 years ago ....

It would have been a falcon station wagon ....

Quite a fixation, the media has with 4wd horror stories.

A vehicle is a vehicle .... its just not all drivers are "drivers" I guess.

That must have been one hell of a u-turn to inflict all that damage. There must be something else to this little story.

No...your right...I didnt have to read it. But I did and wondered why he was telling us? I assume there is more to the story and hes making a point about something?

I guess Ill never know????

If we all open a thread every time we hear about a motor vehicle accident the site will become pretty congested don't you think?

Hi Peter,
Your right it is information sharing, but more often than not the poster never gives an opinion or point of view for discussion. It's left up to others to put their views across or make comment on the story. It's as if they are fixated with 4WD accidents, and yes I know it is a forum where the greater majority drive 4wd's. You know to me it's just 'Another vehicle accident, for what every reason, they weren't thinking. All to common these days. I hope the kid will be alright.
I agree with what Hairy said, "If we all open a thread every time we hear about motor vehicle accident"
I just don't get why these threads are started.
Maybe it's just me, I don't know, but to me it's pointless,
Anyway, thats my two bobs worth.
Cheers.
