Hi,

Can anyone suggest where in Melbourne I can get my Sahara Cruiser frontend aligned properly.

Vehicle to date has had easy 85,000 Klm life with caravan towing for around 10,000K of that, no off roading.

Driving vehicle feels like driving on the top of a fence and wanders either side.

Outside of edges of tires are feathering so something is not right.

Front end has been aligned by an ARB reccommened front end specialist, Toyota and Pro Axel all without improvement.

Thanks

Is your tyre pressure too high ? That could contribute to your symptoms ?

Otherwise try

Darren at Auto-craft has a lot of knowledge with these things .

Hi Werribee
I had the same problem with a hilux, by the time covered 15k been twice back to the dealer, each time getting worse.
Taken to Pedder’s in Darwin, now 15k on still spot on

i think you will find it is your rack ends are worn which severely affects the alignment when driving. have this rectified then get a wheel alignment and all will be good. if you are a member i can recommend someone via PM in geelong who knows these 100 series very well

I'll get them checked, but 6 months ago when Pro Axle did the alignment "they said" they checked for any wear and everything was OK.

It's due for a service I'll have Werribee Toyota check them out for me.

Gday
Are they the original tyres? If so , put new tyres on.

Had the same thing with my 100s VX. The thing wobbled and swayed all over the place especially a lower speeds, and the front tyres were feathering on the outer shoulders. It felt like all the steering joints were worn, but it only had 80K on the clock.

Tried everything including a wheel alignment, but nothing seem to make any difference. Finally put the wheels off my K/Karavan on and borrowed two more for a trial. It all went away. It was the tyres (Grandtrek 22) with about 35K on them, and they looked just fine.

Changed all four tyres to Bridgestone Dueller AT and have never seen the problem again.

Would be very surprised if your rack ends were worn at 85K.

Clive.
