Hi all

For those who've seen inside the diff housings on a 80 series or know for some other reason, most diffs, there's a gap between the inside of the diff housing and the bottom of the diff itself, with Patrols it's about 2cm.

When you're inside the rear diff housing, how big is the gap between the bottom of the diff housing and the bottom of the diff itself?

What about the front diff?

If you only know of one, at least tell me that one, better than nothing.

Thanks everyone

No, very curious to know for a number of reason, like if I do stuff the diff housing when I'm out there, changes to my diffs, give me an idea of how much oil's in there etc.

If anyone has got pictures or knows where I can get them online, even better.

Oil = 1.7 litres from memory (for front and rear).

As for the other question, next oil change, stick a bit of wire in the drain hole (I know it's not directly at the bottom, but close enough) and measure it that way.
