I inherited a honda ex350 generator. It is one of the ones that have an alternator and a built in invertor. It serves the purpose I have for it whichis to charge some batteries and run two fluro lights on occasion. But the engine keeps self adjusting its revs, it will drop to very low revs then sound like it is surging up to high reves, it does this continually and although it is quiet the continual change in noise is annoying. Does anyone have one? and does anyone know if this is what it is supposed to do??

G'Day captnsnooze,
I had an old ex 350 gen. set many years ago, but if my memory serves me well, it was'nt load sensing, and it that's the case it should stay at a constant rev rate.
( someone will correct if I'm wrong on this model ) I would suggest that you have your local honda service tech. check it out.
Regards,
Bazza.

HI Captnsnooze,
I have the exact same generator and had the exact same problem. I pulled the entire thing to bits cleaned teh carby and every other part I could find. Put it all back together again and the problem dissapeared. Took a few hours, and a coupel of beers... :)

Cheers
