Aqua Cube basically seems to be the same thing with a better shower attachement?
The Coleman has a good reputation for quality but its around 70% more in price.
Have any Aqua Cube users had any issues with them? What differences are there between the 2 units?

Hi,
Aqua Cube will only heat
water sufficient for showers etc. Its temperature is controlled. Whereas the Coleman will heat it to a much higher temperature (almost boiling).
IMO the Aqua Cube is better unit for showers but the Coleman has more uses.

70% more?? More like $30-50 in
places. One quality vendor sells the cube for $275 and the Coleman HWOD for $299 (+$20 for the shower head)
The Coleman unit is limited to 71C (not near boiling as mentioned above) where the cube raises temperature by 30C to 55C by the looks of it.
The BIG difference seems to be that the cube requires 12VDC connected whereas the coleman has a battery in the unit for better portabilty IMO.

I have one of each, & the jury is out at the moment, as to which is better!

We have a Coleman, worked
well for 10 hours and the pump died in the ar5e.
We didn't have a problem with the pressure, or heat, but gosh, you expect better life. An no, Coleman don't want to know us and no, we don't have the receipt after all this time.
An expensive few showers.

I had a similar experience last year. The whole thing died. It was replaced after I had come back from a trip. I did manage to find my receipt :) and Coleman did a no hassles exchange to their credit.
My believe in the reliability of the Coleman Hot
Water On Demand was shaken very badly when I was in a
camping store looking for a substitute and another person came in while I was there with another dead one. I rate the Coleman Hot
Water On Demand as a "nearly product"- Could have been great but just stopped working.
It would be great if the reliability issue was in the past. Don't know that it is.
A few comments about the second unit I got and also the Gasmate are on my profile.

take the filter off the pump and inside you will see a small plastic impeller - try and spin the impeller with a nail or similiar object.
Mine has done this a few times because the impeller has seized - everytime I pack my unit up now and get it
home I give it a quick squirt of Inox and so far so good...

Yeah reliability has got to be the utmost important aspecf of a design you rely on, if they are failing and are not robust then thats not what you want. What about the Aquacube, any feedback on reliability..?
