In a few day's time we will be travelling bewteen Mt Isa and
Karumba and would like to
camp somewhere around midway. Has anyone any recommended
bush camping sites - Camps5 only lists one suggestion - maybe someone has been there and can give us an opinion?
Most greatful for any suggestions.

Depends on which way you are going
I went via
Cloncurry and can recommend the
Burke & Wills Roadhouse camp ground for about the 1/2 way point.
There are also a few rest stops along the way, but would suggest you get a copy of Camps Australia 5
Cheers,

Harv,
If you've never been there, do not miss
Lawn Hill George.
I don't have the info on me at present, but do the usual searches, it is a Qld national park.
You did say
bush camping, but it's
well worth a visit if you have a day or two.
Re
Karumba.. I have great memories of a burger there, a fillet of
barramundi and a few king prawns.
Happy travels,
Darryl

As thers have asked, it depends on which way you travel.
We've always gone through Camoweal so that we can visit
Lawn Hill. We either stay at Adel's Grove or on the river at
Gregory Downs. After 30 years, habits are hard to break:-)
