Can anyone advise what prices Hilux wrecks go for at the auctions in melbourne ( Fowles or pickles ) I am thinking of trying to pick up a Hilux 98 -01 dual cab as spares, probably a rollover thats a total write off..

Any advice appreciated.

Too many variables..
Depends on condition, acccessories, what sort of damage.

The newer models arent going cheap, their parts are worth a lot to a wrecker sadly...

have a look at www.3wj.com they are the ones in 4x4 trader with 2340982349820348923089's of ads for damaged cars.

How much can they be worth, assuming they are total write offs eg non repairable bodies? I can buy a brand new motor from toyota for 5 grand (5l diesel 3litre) this would suggest a second hand one is only worth 2500 max? Second hand diffs and gear boxs couldn't be that exy given that the wreckers would have to make 100% on everything they sell at least. If you assumed you found say a 98 dual cab with less than 100k on the clock with unrepairable roof panel and or chassis damage whast do you reckon it would be worth???? Guestimates are fine??

Get some copies of PARTS PEDDLER and 4x4 TRADER from the newsagent .They have pics and prices of wrecks with plenty of 4x4 from all states.November issues should be on sale next week.
