Well the EOTrackMe system is proving to be very popular and I am working on a number of updates and new functions. I am also starting to work on the SPOT integration and would like to get a couple of members on board to start the SPOT interface. I only need a link to your shared page - so if you have one of these and there is some data in it can you please give me the URL. You can PM (david@exploroz.com) me or post it here.

I know a few people gave me details earlier and I kept these links but I tried them all and none of them have any data installed. So I need to start this process again.

Thanks all.
David

I sent it at the time David, but these days, I wonder why I would advise people that know me locally, why I would advise them that I was another six or eight days longer away. It is all very well with friends, but there are a lot of readers who can track and know who many of us are.

Sorry, I won't send it in for publication. Security becomes an issue.

The info on the shared page is deleted after about 30 days. I originally sent in details but because of the Spot2 recall fiasco I do not have my unit and it is unknown when I will.

Yeah I know Rod the info being removed this is one of the reason for EOTrackMe - it will collect it and store it for you to use as you see fit. Like linking to blog stories or sharing with other people who are interested to follow in your tracks.
No worries and thanks for offering before, have a good one.

Everything seems to work fine for me on EOTrackMe accept for the webpage

I keep getting a popup saying "errorLoadingVectorData"

I get this using Firefox on a PC and Chrome on a Mac.

Any clues?

While your doing that little job, and not too busy :-)
How about integrating with those of us who are Amateur Radio Ops running APRS. http://aprs.fi
The APRS feed is available and can be interrogated by callsign, and since it works on HF radio can send position reports from remote areas.

Here is part of my Simpson Desert track from last year showing us on the Eyre Creek Bypass

What about land mobile HF as well, Codan and Barret etc. HFOz has a similar system.

Dave,
Can you MM me a link to a feed of the data for your device. I had a look at the site and I am sure I can integrate this I just need some example data. I would like to see the feed URL for your live tracking please.

Rod,
We asked HFoz however they do not support any access to the data other than using their interface. I think this is the only tracking service that does not offer data feeds to allow you to use your tracking data as you see fit. PLease feel free to email them and ask for data feed access to your data and we will be able to integrate their service also.
One of the main advantages of use the EOTrackMe system is that we are build methods for you to store, share and link blogs etc to your trip/tracking data. It is still all beung built but there are so great tools and features being built into the system which we are happy to provide but need HFoz to provide the access to your tracking data to be able to move forward with that service.

David

I messaged you details of the servers, sorry I couldn't be more helpful at this stage, it has been a while since I looked at the details of the data stream.

I hope you have some success with what I sent you. As far as live data from me goes, If you are able to get the feed OK, my stations are numerous.

VK4MDX-4 is my HF and VHF radio receive fed to internet (referred to as an iGate) running on 145.175 MHz (VHF) and 7036.5 MHz (HF) Amateur Radio 2 meter and 40 meter bands respectively. It also sends a packet of data every 300 seconds over radio to identify it, and every 50 minutes via internet.

VK4MDX-9 is running most of the time and is VHF radio based tracker in one of my 4WD's.

VK4MDX-15 is running when I am remote (away from VHF reception) and is HF based tracker in the same 4WD.

'Nuther vote for HF oz integration.

That would be a great way to bring HF users onto Exploroz follow me.

As a new member of ExplorOz, I didnt realise the EOtrackme / spot integration was just a new feature. I had no trouble setting up my Spot into the map at all, so thanks for the easy instructions.

How long does EOtrackme keep tracking, we will be away 3 months ?
Ive had the Spot tracker on the dashboard while I drive around at work, so far 3 weeks on one set of batteries,

I am setting up a webpage /blog so family can keerp an eye on our progress while we are in remote parts & as our itinery isnt fixed we wont really know where we are going to deviate to untill we get there, so SPOT tracking is really a fantastic safety /peace of mind feature

Can the eotrackme map be used on an extenal webpage inside an iframe, or can the full page map be linked to from an external webpage ??

thanks ..Don
