We are planning to spend a couple of days at
Lake Maraboon near
Emerald on the way up to the NT, I understand it's popular CP, just wondering if any one has first hand experience.
Cheers

We were there 3 weeks ago and had no trouble getting in without booking. Nice park and a lot of red claw were being caught when we were there.

Dazza
We went in there for a night at the beginning of June last year. We had not booked - had to change plans when the
Carnarvon Gorge Road was closed by rain.
We liked the park, friendly & helpful attitude on the part of park management, all facilities fine.
Plenty of walking, drives etc, and lots of folk fishing.
I'd go there again.

Top park, we have always been able to get in without booking but has been close to full on occasions.
If you haven't been to Rubyvale it is worth a visit while in the area. A couple of nights there, going thru the gravel you buy for about $8, hunting for sapphires is a lot of fun. We enjoyed Bedford Gardens CP, basic but clean and handy.
