Just finished putting a few photo's together of what it's like around here in the wet season, I think some of the shots will put a smile on your face,

I just got one question,

" Where's our Blaady invite"

You go off and have all of the fun, but you didn't invite the rest of us.

Looks like everyone had fun. I betcha my old girl would've got bogged too!!!!

Getting out is half the fun the rest is getting in.

Gave me a laugh Doug. That's always good.

It's been a while since I was bogged that deep. Unfortunately I have never had a camera or the presence of mind to use it in those situations.

The last time it happened I was about 5km east of Matakana on the rail line. At the time my recovery gear, including shovel, was in Broken Hill. Your pics brought back memories of an incident that still generates passions in my family, and mirth amongst my friends.

How good is that? I too put some pictures together with Slim music, file too big to post. It makes looking at photos more enjoyable. Looking at your lightening photo I bought the tripod as you advised but are still waiting for lightening to try it out!!!
Well done.

Well done Doug

What software are you using to get those nice tranition effects between shots?. I have just posted a query on how to do that as I have some nice short clips using the Koday Zi8 recently purchased on your good advice and wish to stich some together without the abrupt change

Cheers

I used "Windows Movie Maker" not sure if it's a Vista feature only but all you do is add the still photo's , add the mp3, and slip the transitions in between each photo or every second one or third , what ever turns one on , as for the song length, just keep adding photo's to the time line until you reach the end of the sound wave,

I might do another one about when the country's dry soon, when I select the photo's I put then into a folder on the destop and reduce the size, to a just a bit smaller than your profile photo, The whole project was around 4 mb, the more transitions you add the bigger the finished file is, mine ended up at 16.4mb, thats why I dont add a transition between every photo.

Hi Doug

Movie maker is great as you well know and I am finding out ..but using video clips from the Kodak Zi8 I cant get the video to display...only the sound...it changes into timeline when I drag and drop the clip...and the sound track plays but the viewer pane on the right hand side remains black..have you had this trouble?

sorry to be a nuisance in asking you ..

Thanks

Graeme

I have some Zi8 files from my Kodak, I'll have a little play around, maybe for the Zi8 best to use the software that came with it, are you trying to joind a few clips together....that's something else I have not tried yet ,

The software that comes with it seems ok ...my real issue is I cant seem to find the ability to transition....I have spent the last 10 days out prospecting and have a number of short video clips from the Zi8 but they need the transition to join them otherwise it looks stupid and jerky as the clips change.

I purchased that Zi8 after your post saying how good you thought it was and I am delighted with it...fitted perfectly on my belt and I am amazed at the quality even in low light....

Thanks

OK i have had a trial with Arcsoft, it seems to be almost identical to the Windows version, I joined 2 clips ok, it does have transitions , see below, and you do things in the settings button too, also could make the still photo slides like the one about the wet,
The reason the Windows one won't work is that it does not have the Arcsoft Codec, I guess you could download it but why, the Arcsoft one works fine.
