At 46 years
young I have travelled OZ extensively, I do however have a bucket list.
My list is.
1:A round trip of Tassie.
2: The full Gunbarrel hwy.
3:The
Canning Stock Route.
4:The
Simpson Desert.
5:
Cape York.
6: Back to
the Dig Tree this time to with the Wife.
7: A full lap of OZ.
8: Southern WA again this time with the family.
9: The Kimberly coast.
10: Retire in the Top End some were.
If I haven't mentioned it is probably because I have already been there, some of these
places I have been before but not extensively.
Have fun with your list.

I do want to do the Ghan -
Adelaide to
Darwin - did the Indian Pacific to
Perth 10 yrs ago and loved it.
Each day as I read
blogs and forums I add other
places that I'd like to see - in fact have started keeping lists on a state by state basis as
well as cutting out pics from Caravan mags so that when we head off next year I can refer to my book called "gee, that looks a good place to camp". There are too many to list here and the list grows daily.

1: Lose some weight so I can visit the tropics without feeling like Im living in a sauna.
2: Stop smoking when Im ready, without some twerp trying to bully me into it.
3: See some evidence of Mr Rudds so called healthy and robust economy allowing me to top up the
tank, disappear for a week without worrying if I have a job to come back to.
4: Eventually, do a Willem and go poking around
places Angels fear to tread.
Thats about it for now apart from waiting for my application to the Miserable Old Farts Club....hahaha.
Cheers.....Lionel.

Jumped out of a plane up at
Mission Beach years ago, my weight was a bit of an issue, but we jumped anyway from 12000 feet, it was fantastic . . .
Had a look at the photos when they came out, the areodynamic roundness of my belly explains the speed of the decent and why the bloke strapped to my back screamed like a girl all the way down . . .
As for the rest of the list . . . . . still working on it, only problem is not enough hours in the day.
Cheers
Lotzi

In my younger days I seriously doubted I would survive to see my 25th birthday due to what could be termed exciting lifestyle choices on my part.
Much to my surprise I am now in my mid 50s
Consequentially I have done many of the bucket list things already.
I think now I just want to grow old disgracefully and spend time annoying the idiots who have annoyed me for so long.
Apart from that my only real wish is to visit my birthplace in Fiji before I die.

Just sounds great. I often consider bucket lists and being of around the same age.
The hardest is identifying just the top 10.
My list is.
1:A round trip of Tassie and stay for 6 months
2: I would love to see some platypus in the wild when out
camping.
3:The
Canning Stock Route.
4:The
Simpson Desert.
5: Empress springs and other landmarks in the area
6: Love to see
the Dig Tree and other great landmarks in the area.
7: A full lap of OZ.
8: I want to see the lava tunnels of Queensland
9: The Northern Kimberly coast like kulumberu and the horizontal falls.
10: After living in the Territory for years I find it one of the most special
places in Australia and I would love to go back and live and work in some of the more remote
places - eg Elcho Island,
Nhulunbuy etc.

I need deadlines....if I have a list of things to do before I die then it is a moveable deadline (which of course I'm thinking/hoping is a long way off) which gives me time to procrastinate. As such about 3 years ago (when I was 33) I wrote a list of 50 things I wanted to do by the time I'm 50. Now some of these are everyday things that I just had been putting off - writing the list made me get off my bum and take the boys to
the beach and
camping in the first place! others are bigger.
travel wise I added
perth (which has now evolved into a driving across the nulabour trip - from
melbourne), tassie etc. I tell my boys all the time there is so much of aust to see.
My parents always talked about doing the
grey nomad thing - they bought a camper trailer and did a few trips and loved it, upgraded to a full van and a 4wd (jeep) and were all set to go up to qld and nt for about 3 months.....then bowel cancer hit, 28weeks of weekly chemo kinda keeps you close to home. I hope they get to do their trip.
Meanwhile me and the boys will do as many short trips as we can fit into our lives - it may not be the big lap but at least we see some of Oz
sadly I keep reading of everyone elses travels and adding more
places to my list.
