Hi,

Has anyone tried using one of the portable winch systems ?

http://www.brawn4x4.com.au/port_a_winch.htm

Any comments/suggestions ?

Sure looks a lot easier than the Tirfor type winch.

Thanks

Phil,
Have a look through the Archives...there have been a few post in reference to this.

Might lookeasier than a Tirfor but a lot heavier to bugger around with.

Cheers

I dont think that they are practical at all . If you are stuck , usually you are in a orquard place ,or in a bog hole . Imagine trying to remove your 40 kg winch from your car and trying to connect leads to batteries , hooking up the cables . When I saw the add in one of the mags , the first thing I asked myself was , where do you sit the winch when your in a bog hole ? in the mud??????? I have used hand turfors before and found them great for problem recoveries ., pluss they get you fit lol .Venus Bay
