G'day all,
I am looking at up grading the 90 series Prado's suspension and i just wanted to know if anyone had tried the terrain tamer or tuff dog suspension set ups and if so what was it like.Otherwise what other set ups are recommended with out breaking the bank. The prado is used for towing the old jaydove camper when the chance arrives, and getting loaded up with groceries and supplies when going into town. Thanks in advance for any help offered.
Cheers John.

We got Tough Dog suspension with adjustable shocks on our 95 series Prado (2000 model VX) at about 145,000km. Cost about $1500 installed (OL). Very happy with it - the improvement in ride and articulation is amazing. Don't tow a camper, but have been fully loaded a number of times and it is really good.

I haven't bothered adjusting the shocks as much as I did initially - it is a bit fiddly. You have to reach in to the dial, turn it anti-clockwise to 0, then turn clockwise to the desired setting, counting the clicks on the dial. If you go for adjustable shocks - and I think they are worthwhile, esp if the load varies a lot or you are towing - I suggest the in-cab electronic controller might be worthwhile.

Cheers
Des
