$115.55 in May last year for renewal. Licensing in WA always goes up on 30 June. Vehicles are much dearer; we pay over $600 per vehicle. Lic fees include compulsory third party (bodily injury) and this is a major part of the cost.

Yep, in Vic our fees go up by CPI every year. However 2 to 3 % on $30 is not a lot. Our 3rd party insurance on trailers is covered by our vehicle 3rd Party ins & rego.

Obviously other states choose to rip you off!~!!

Our State Govt 3rd party scheme (TAC) is rolling in money. Doesnt need to rip us off !!!

Just renewed our van rego for the first time - SA- $97. With politicians in charge, such a seemingly reasonable fee is most perplexing :-o).

In the other states you have to add the cost for the roadworthy.
You need to compare actual cost not just rego.
have fun

We don't have a roadworthy cost in Tassie, but the transport inspectors & police set up road side checks every now and then and will pull you off the road if the vehicle is unroadworthy, which unfortunatly many here are.
Cheers

Cheers

Hi Fellow Kiwis.
It is not quite all beer and skittles is it.
I compared cost etc, re reg, Inc, etc before I bought a vehicle in OZ.
It is quite expensive there. My basic vehicle was over %10 after GST, dearer there.
Insc cost much the same percentage of value, reg much dearer, then realise 3rd party has to be paid to reg the vehicle, so in fact you pay 3rd party twice.
I thought the GST etc were in the initial cost of the vehicle, right there, hadn't calculated on the grinning female behind the counter saying that will be more than I expected /budgeted on,of some $4,000.00 more. STAMP DUTY.
Diesel prices are quite high even calculating the RUC that we have here in N.Z.
Never mind there is still a road/track I haven't been on yet.
Idiots around the heavily populated areas still appear to be the same where ever I have driven in other countries.
Have fun
There is a heap of nice people to meet once you get out there.
