hi, could someone please let us know if there is another way to get caravans on and off the teewah beach. we were up there the other day and noticed the council have changed the entry and exit to the beach. before you could take a caravan through the 3rd cutting and go onto the beach, on hard ground through the creek, but there is no creek anymore. it is now a road onto the beach. we can get the van on but not off because the exit off the beach is through loose sand and it is steep. also everyone wishing to go to the beach has to use the same entry and exit. because there is only 1 way onto the beach now for everyone to use. sort of stuffs it up for fellow caravaners who wish to camp in the national park.

You could theoretically get out via Freshwater road to near Rainbow beach but I think if you're having trouble getting the van off at the 3rd cutting then you won't get too far along that track.

thats the problem. there is no 3rd cutting anymore. 1 only entry and exit to the beach and its chewed up by cars. sands too soft and no hope of getting a van off.

when the council changed to 3rd cutting they didn't think of people with caravans.

It's no problem with a Range Rover and camper trailer.LOL. And I like the bitumin to the ferry.
You could try to enter at Rainbow Beach as the entry is pretty firm usually.

Might be a problem at the bypass although when I did it last September the entry was fine/firm but the exit dropped away about 2 feet. Depends on how good an entry and exit you have.

Hi Peter & Lyn

Have you looked at the entry -exit point.10m soft sand to ramp made of road base with matting .We towed dual axle on and off recently .it was harder parking van on beach spot than going up or down ramp

G/Day Peter

We take our van up there on a regular basis, the third cutting was relocated when they extended the bitumen road recently, we find it's a lot better if you approach it in 2nd gear low range, the same when you are comming off the beach as well, I use a section of Orange Barricade matting if it gets to powdery.

Cheers
