Water Tank Feedback

We carry a 75l soft water bladder, it easily fits along the floor in the back seat (100 series) kids still young enough not to rest feet on and old enough to know not to walk on it! It fills easily by a hose and can be emptied by the outlet hose by hanging the hose out the door and when not in use under the front seat. We use it as our drinking water only and can last 5-7days before needing to refill. We also take a couple of 20l jerrys. I don't think it was cheap but we've had it now for a few years and haven't had any issues with it. Once empty it's like a flat bag, very tough!

Boags,

Where did you get it from, as I am looking at either a water tank or a bladder for an upcoming trip. Just need to work out what will best suit my needs.

cheers

Hey Boags, my kids might be a little older than yours. I also use a 75 litre flexitank on the rear floor of a dual cab ute.
I strap it down first, then put down a false floor that I knocked up out of ply. Kids can jump all over it and get themselves in an out of the car without me constantly worrying about the water (especially in the desert).

Wish I knew about that place at Yatala - I paid just a bit over double that at ARB and knew I was getting carved up at the time - I hate that.

No need to use the filling point, Just fill through the outlet pipe with a hose.
When about 3/4 full disconnect the hose and hold the end of the outlet pipe high above the bladder and press on the bladder so that all air is forced out the outlet pipe, when you have only water coming out turn the tap off and re-connect the water hose till full.
Each time you drain or fill from the outlet hose the Bladder will shrink or expand accordingly, it is only necessary to expell the air when filling for the first time each trip.

Regards,

Scrubby.

It is a flexitank and we got it from ARB it does the job well and when the kids do get bigger we'll look at relocating it.
