Hi everyone I am trying to find out whether it is possible to fit 2 33x12.50x17 MTZ
tyres onto the ARB Dual wheel carrier. The ARB catalogue says it possible but a dealer has queried this and I want to be sure before buying.

Roger,

I have the Kaymar rear bar on my GQ from TJM, although I think the ARB one is a Kaymar too. Mine fits 2 33 X 12.5 BFG's on Sunraysia 15's on it nicely. I assume that the rim dia doesn't alter the outside dia of the tyre? So 33's are 33's I think.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Brian

While ARB do sell Kaymar rear bars they now produce their own rear bar which is a totally differant bar.I would have thought that 33's would fit, pretty common size.

You don't say what vehicle - may be different.
I have an ARB twin carrier rear bar on my '05 Patrol GUIV.
I have 32" tyres on it and there is 5" clearance between the 2 of them.
Thus if I put 33" tyres on it I would still have 4" clearance.
However i would strongly recommend getting a Kaymar rather than an ARB rear bar.
Send me a message if you want to know why.

Check out Strong Arm carriers from Ultimate 4wd in Canning Vale ( used to be K & N)
I had a duel carrier on my 80 series and was wrapped, now have a 100 series which came with a Kaymar and although more flexible for different fittings, eg jerrys and jacks the open and closing mechanism is much better on the Strong Arm
