As part of out trip this year we are planning on going out to
Dalhousie Springs. I notice that the Pedirka Road from
Hamilton Station to Dalhousie is currently closed. Does anyone know anything about the "Rocks Track" from
Oodnadatta to
Freeth Junction through
Macumba Station. I thought it might be an alternative to going up to
Bloods Creek and back down to Dalhousie. We will be exiting Dalhousie that way. We have 6 vehicles, 3 of them towing off road campers.
Thanks

Teege,
Check with SAPOL at
Oodnadatta on travelling the Rocks track to
Macumba, the last I researched it is an emergency route only, and not available to the general public.
regards,
Dion.

Yep - closed for all but dead set emergencies - it's a
Macumba station track; not a public road - the manager of the Kidman Pastoral Co. published a considered advice to all and sundry a few years back to the effect - "unless you have the permission of SA Police, keep off or else" !

Thanks folks. Looks like it's the
Bloods Creek way if the Pedirka Road is still closed.
