Hi

Does anyone know how hard it is to fit a 1996 triton diesel to a 1997 pajero. From what I have been able to find the pajero and triton take the same engine. Engine is complete and in good cond.

thanks Kc

Is the Paj Petrol or diesel? If Diesel cannot see any problems provided it is the 2.8. I am not sure when the tritons switched to the larger motor.

by the looks of your topic im guesing you have a 97 pajero petrol and want to chaange to diesel?
first thing is why would you want to change?
if you have blown the petrol and its time to change engines so your thinking of putting a diesel in instead anything is posible but it would be much easier to buy a diesel pajero.
theres so many things to change when going from petrol to diesel it be a pain in the butt unless you can do it all yourself.every thing from tank to wiring looms.
but not impossible.
cheers

To do that sort of swap the best way is for the donor vehicle to be a 1997 Pajero as well, that way you can get ALL the bits that are different between diesel and petrol models.
Unless you are getting the engine for nothing and are doing it all yourself it would be way cheaper to buy a diesel Pajero.
