We have been thinking of purchasing either a used nissan patrol or navara but after reading the latest edition of the Caravaning Magazine which gave both a bad rap, can we get some feedback from others.THX

What are you expecting the car to do for you? Tow, 4WD or just drive to work?

This is a very general question. How 'used'.. how old?

There a plenty of people driving both and happy with them.

I have no direct experience.

Why limit yourself to those two though? Consider more widely and you will have a lot more options. Work through all second hand 4wds...

PS... Toyotas are most popular for a reason...

Prado is the way to go, huge fuel tanks, very economical, beautiful to drive. Let us know what you decide on.

would not touch a Navara at all let alone to tow with
Patrol 3l still explode to much

Triton 3.2 and Rodeo 3L best towing choice

After reading the latest Caravan & Motorhome mag I tend to agree, the Nissan's both got a caning. The Holden Colorado is now the Rodeo and a very nice looking vehicle, also l like the look of the Triton, anyway we have the rest of the year to decide and hopefully by then we will be on the road to somewhere.

It depends on your needs, how heavy your van is etc, we have a patrol on Gas, gives it a bit more power and slightly better on Diesel. We have a 24' van with a tinny and boat loader on Patrol, so have a heavy load, My husband has done his homework, The patrol is great for heavy towing, we were interested in the navara as well but wouldnt take the weight of everything.
Good luck
