Hi

Not yet qualified, so still poor Uni students need a good mechanic who won't overcharge in the Kenmore/ Indooroopilly area of Brisbane. Can anyone make any recommendations either who to use or where to get reliable advice on who to use.

thanks

What kind of work do you need done and what kind of car do you have?

I live in Indooroopilly and can really recommend that you don't go to the place starting with K on the corner of Coonan and Keating streets :)

If you need a diesel mechanic go to Highway Diesel at Coopers Plains (15 mins).

If you happen to own an 80 series and want to service it at home I can probably help you...

Cool, I'm in Indooroopilly with an 80 series, can you fix mine too?

Seriously, I have actually had a few things done at Sci-fleet in Taringa and their prices were as good as anyone else's. At least I have "some" confidence that they know what they're doing (more than the "K" place or the almost adjacent "M" place anyway).

Lack of local places I trust is one of the reasons I try to do as much as I can myself though.

Hi Car is 97 Ford Festiva. We do oil changes and smaller jobs but need
somewhere who wont rip us of for bigger jobs as required and know what they are doing. We are sick of going to mechanics who charge rediculous prices but have apprentice do all the work, or are just plain sloppy.

Thanks Kc

I'd go and talk to the bloke who runs the workshop at the full service BP on Coonan Street (near Belgrave Road)- I figure any bloke who bothers to run a serviced servo can't be all that bad :)
