G'Day all,
I'm just about to swap about the UHF sets in the Escape and new Prado and was if anyone knows of an antenna base that can take a "big white stick", but also a short flexable, for city use. Is there such a thing, or am I looking at two bases?
Regards,
Bazza.

The GME 4700 series antennas use an interchangeable base.
I have the 4705 model, 1.2 metre "big white stick", and the 4701 300mm models. Their website has them all listed with compatibility spread sheets for the bases. The 4701 works better around town buy the way because of it's lower Db.

Sorry...the 4701 (little bugger) is 580mm long, 2.1db.
I was thinking of an old one I had that was 300mm!

Thats the config i run. Drop the GME fibreglass one in when i go away, and leave the stainless in for around town. Works a treat.
Cheers,
Glenn.

get one with a good spring in the base.
Mine fell off (snapped) due to corrugations on recent
Cape York trip
