Hi folks
I have a 2003 Hylux tray top and need to remove the factory towbar.

It has 6 bolts which don't look too difficult but each side has a sort of "clamp" like extension which locates into a slot in the chassis.
Once the bolts are removed how hard will it be for one person "me" to dislodge these clamps from the chassis. They look as if they were "sprung" into position like a giant circlip!

Don't want to attempt this if it requires 10 strong men and some special tool !!

Advice appreciated.

Dont worry about the end sections that slot into the chassis

Once you remove the bolts the tow bar will fall off the vehicle

I put a factory bar on my 03 a few years ago and had it on and off a couple of times while I was playing around doing a few other things. I was on my own and from memory I don't think I used any kind of lever, they just came out by hand as easy as can be.

Those extensions just resist twisting on the bolts as a load is applied. They are not jammed in tight to hold the bar on.
