GRR in the Jayco off road expanda

Well, just returned from 6 weeks in the Kimberly (Fantastic) and to anyone who may be interested the Jayco off road expanda done the GRR with ease (apart from deep water crossings). We only lost one screw off the roll out awning. That's it.
The Kimberly moon concert with Farnham was great in Kunners.
Regards
Mark.

Yeh! The Kimberley is still one of our best trips to date, was a few years back now & would like to go again. At the time we only had a tent, but was a great trip. We now have a Jayco also & love it too although we still take the tent to get into areas that might challenge the van. Most people that have bad things to say about Jayco have probably never owned one. How far did you take the van?..... Did you go up Kalumburu Rd & into Mitchell Falls?

We left the van at Drysdale station and used our blackwolf at the falls and Kalumburu. The road to Drysdale had not been graded and was the roughest I've seen for corrugations, but it held up. Awesome country.

Hello Mark.
What year & model Expanda do you own? How deep were the crossings? What do you tow with?

Hi Grant,
We have a 2006 single axle model. Deepest crossing was 1.2 metres deep and we towed it in a LC 200 series TT Diesel, which I might add did the job brilliant (Although we have had heaps of mods done to the car)

Regards Mark

PS - yes water did come in, but bugga all as I duct taped up most of the vents
Cheers

Thanks Mark.

I towed a 2006 12.37-2 Outback Expanda the length of the GGR in July 2008 on 4 month 28000km trip to see WA. Did the same as you and left it at Drysdale to go places north. If you don't mind, I would be very appreciative of you joining & posting a trip report on the Expanda Owners Australia Yahoo forum.
