Raster Maps

Hi folks,

Does anyone know where one can find smaller than 250K raster maps (ie more detail) for Oziexplorer?

I have the latest Natmaps, but would like greater detail in maps.

Cheers.

The best place to start would be in the ExplorOz shop under Maps. At the very least that will give you a good idea of what is available and at what scale. The prices are reasonable too, IMHO.

A few of the states have down to 25000 or even 10000 but the areas that these cover are limited. I believe there is only a 250000 to cover the whole of Australia.

Look for digital maps at the "shop" on this site.

Hi - winzip or winrar plus a host of other programs - do an internet search for unzip programs.

I thought PCs come with a "free" unzipper dont they?

What state are you after?

There are some free NSW and Vic ones here...

OziExplorer NSW/Vic Maps, Magellan (OSM) maps, Garmin contours

Hi,
Was after south Australia - have noticed that there is nothing around though. I can remember when in school, there were some high definition maps that we used to study, they had great detail.

I guess I need to look around some more - Explore Oz has nothing to offer unfortunately.

Cheers.

I have some old 50K maps of the SE areas of SA. I cant see them for sale anywhere now. There was a map shop in Adelaide I bought them from but I dont seem to be able to find them.

The only topo maps currently being sold seem to be some old 100K maps.

Hi

You appear to be able to purchase SA 50K digital maps from these two shops....

The Map Shop - TOPOMAPSA

Cartographics - TOPOMAPSA

Bit expensive though.

PS

Sometime in the near future 100K digital maps will be available from Geoscience Australia for a small fee I believe. You can get some from SA 100K Maptrax now, but at a cost.

Cheers

The map shop that Zebra400 was referring to in Adelaide is on Peel st. Mongrel of a place to get to, by car anyway.
