Just spoke with Cairns Regional Council, as I understand it they now look after the creb track. They advised that this track will not be opened until at least Sep-Oct this year.

Those that know the area, is this standard or is there more to it?

Last trip up cape york I missed doing this track due rain, I was looking forward to it, anyone know why it will take so long to open it?

It looks as though I will miss out again as we will be there late June.

Any info would be good, thanks

A group i normally travel with only completed the creb track this week.
They said easy peasy.
They had dust coming off their tyres it was so dry.
They told me it was open.
Even the bloomfield river was low.

thanks for that. Strange the cairns regional council advise that it is closed. I first spoke with the DERM and they gave me the details about the council now managing the track.

looks like we will need to check closer to our date (23-24/6) and maybe check the signage at the start of the track.

Hi, If the council say the track is closed from the southern end, it is closed as there is a gate on the track. You can come in from the northern end to the Roaring Meg falls.
The Bloomfield River is not crossed on the Creb Track. The coastal road takes in this river at Wujal Wujal.
I reckon the creb Track will be open soon as its getting really dry up this way.

Cheers Col
