Plenty highway

Hi all ,I will be traveling to the Birdville race this year and on leaving I was going to travel the Plenty hwy and make my way across to Alice springs . My question is how rough is it and is it ok to tow a semi off road caravan across it ..

jcm68.

As with most of the roads out that way it can be one end of the scale or the other.
If the weather is fine and you take your time it should be o/k.
I would however take two spares for the van and the vehicle.
Do not get taken in by the condition of the section you may be on at the time as it can change in 50mtrs.

safe travels.

Gday,
The conditions can change over night, but if its passable, the worst it will be is badly corrugated with some washouts.
Is your van up to a corrugated road...you will be the best judge of that.
